Announcing the Winners of the Concours d’art oratoire Traditional Virtual Provincial Finals

Saskatoon, May 7, 2021 – Forty-four students from Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia participated in the Concours d’art oratoire Traditional Virtual Provincial Finals hosted by Canadian Parents for French – Saskatchewan. Each province’s finalists were judged separately (three distinct Provincial Finals).

The judges remarked, “Nous sommes impressionnés avec la qualité des discours au complet et nous aimerons féliciter tous les jeunes qui ont participé au concours. Nous constatons qu’ils ont mis beaucoup d’effort à se préparer pour la compétition.”

The winners, including their speech titles, in each category were as follows:

Saskatchewan

Grade 9/10 French Immersion
1st: Minjung Kim, Campbell Collegiate, Regina – Crimes haineux contre les Asiatiques

Moving Forward to the Concours d’art oratoire Traditional Virtual National Final

The following students will have the opportunity to represent Saskatchewan at the Concours d’art oratoire Traditional Virtual National Final: Ozayr Raazi (Grade 11/12 French Immersion), Manvi Ghai (Grade 11/12 French Immersion), Devin Atkins (Grade 11/12 French Immersion), Alexis Warren (Grade 11/12 Enriched French Immersion), and Noura Coulibaly (Grade 11/12 Enriched French Immersion).

Nora Aldandashi (Grade 11/12 Core French), Sirui Li (Grade 11/12 Core French), Ahmed Ibrahim (Grade 11/12 Core French), and Lashyn Ahmad (Grade 11/12 Francophone) will have the opportunity to represent Alberta at the Concours d’art oratoire Traditional Virtual National Final.

The following students will have the opportunity to represent British Columbia at the Concours d’art oratoire Traditional Virtual National Final: Alice Shin (Grade 11/12 Early French Immersion), Ethan Guin (Grade 11/12 Early French Immersion) and Anita Beauchamp (Grade 11/12 Francophone).

Congratulations to all students from grades 1 to 12, teachers, principals, consultants, and school boards for the enormous support and work they demonstrated in organizing and promoting the Traditional Concours d’art oratoire at all levels. This program has been a tremendous success given the challenges the pandemic has placed on schools. Merci beaucoup!
